How Much I Made My First Year on YouTube — Big Plot Twist!

Are you considering starting a YouTube channel in 2024 and wonder how much YouTubers actually make? Today, we’re diving into the numbers, and I’ll be sharing the details of my YouTube earnings one year after getting monetized. It’s been a journey filled with excitement, challenges, and some unexpected twists. If you’re curious about the breakdown of my earnings, buckle up and stay tuned until the end of the video.

The Early Months

As many of you know, I achieved monetization halfway through January, and the initial thrill of making money on YouTube was incredible. In the first month, I earned $55.72 — a small sum but a significant milestone. February brought in $100.41 with around 9,000 views, and the journey was well underway.

Consistent Growth and Milestones

For the next few months — March, April, and May — my earnings remained in the lower hundreds, fluctuating between 9,000 and 10,000 views. June marked a turning point with a noticeable spike. The CPM (Cost Per Thousand Impressions) reached $30, and I earned $167.25 with increased views. July and August saw steady growth, breaking the $200 mark in August with about 14,000 views.

December’s Unexpected Twist

Then came December, a month anticipated by many YouTubers for high RPMs due to increased advertising during the holiday season. However, things took an unexpected turn for me. Despite maintaining consistent content focused on personal finance and side hustles — content typically associated with high RPMs — my RPM suddenly dropped significantly at the end of November. It went from around $20 to a mere $3, leading to a nearly halved AdSense revenue.

This unforeseen development puzzled me, as December is traditionally regarded as a lucrative month for content creators. I reached out to the community to see if others experienced a similar drop, and if you have insights, I’d love to hear them in the comments.

Navigating Challenges and Staying Positive

Despite the December setback, I’m incredibly content with how my first year on YouTube unfolded. It required dedication, hard work, and learning valuable lessons in time management and productivity. The journey has been a blend of highs and a few perplexing lows.

The Grand Total: Closing Year 1

As of December 8th, my total AdSense revenue for 2022 stands at $1,937.70, just shy of the $2,000 mark. With a few weeks left in the year, I’m hopeful to reach that milestone. If you want to show your support, don’t forget to hit the like button — it goes a long way in helping the channel grow.

And that’s a wrap for today! I hope you enjoyed this deep dive into my YouTube earnings for the year. Wishing you all a joyful holiday season, and I’ll catch you early next year. Bye for now! 🚀
